Audiences can look forward to an island murder mystery, a musical holiday favourite, a warm romantic comedy, and a spring show that celebrates getting older with plenty of bite during Central Alberta Theatre’s 2026-2027 season.
Central Alberta Theatre (CAT) will open its new season next month with Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None, a classic mystery that sends ten strangers to a remote island, where secrets are exposed and the guests begin to die one by one. Shows run from Oct. 16 to 31.
CAT will present A Christmas Carol — A Sylvan Lake Theatre Production, adapted by Bridget Ryan, from Nov. 26 to Dec. 6 in Red Deer, and Dec. 11 to 13 in Sylvan Lake.
Crossing Delancey, Susan Sandler’s warm romantic comedy about a young woman whose grandmother and a local matchmaker have definite ideas about love, will hit the stage Jan. 29 to Feb. 13.
CAT’s season will close with Frederick Stroppel’s Senior Moments, a collection of one-act plays that look at the senior experience with humour, edge and a willingness to push the envelope. Shows run March 5 to 20.
“Theatre is one of the few places where a community can gather, sit in the dark together, and experience the same story in the same moment,” said Jeremy Robinson, CAT’s artistic producer.
“We want people to laugh, wonder, be surprised, and leave already thinking about their next night at the theatre.”
Season tickets are available through the CAT Box Office only, either in person or by phone. Individual online tickets are available only through Showpass. CAT encourages patrons to avoid purchasing tickets through Facebook comments, private messages, resale posts, or third-party sellers.
